Sierra Leone Experience

Getting a bus to proceed on our trip was a big issue in Liberia but through the help of our volunteer we had to take two separate commercial cars; we were separated on the trip which was very worrisome, we felt so much joy when we meet ourselves at each border points, the first driver we took who wanted to cheat us, had a problem with his car few hours into the journey, through the help of an immigration officer we got part of our fare back, immediately God designed an empty vehicle for us and the driver was willing to take us to the border, which we did, all the borders in spite the language barrier, they didn’t collect any fees from us, we got another vehicle at 6 pm, proceeded on a16 hours journey, something we thought was 6 to 8 hours, over 20 checkpoints on the way but God granted us favor, we got to the Capelaro hotel around 2 am. Our volunteer told us the food they made for over 100 kids was spoilt, and she needed to make another one in the morning.

In the morning we proceeded to the Roghangea/ old wharf Community, where we met the chief and were told that the kids earlier selected by our volunteer as gone to school but due to the time because we needed to proceed to Guinea, we just started playing music and over 100 kids out of school children came out to meet us, the crowd of the kids were overwhelming, this was the highest we have seen, we had to take a bike out of the community because our sight alone made some adults and kids remain at the Chief House, so we left that same day, we could not eat at the hotel because the hotel is dirty, so we stayed all day without food.
