Ivory Coast: of closed borders, the trial, conflict, and God’s grace.

How do we start with the story of the Ivory Coast? The fact that for a moment, we felt completely lost. We’d backed a bus the day before and paid almost $6000 for the bus to convey us to Senegal, making stops along the way.
Our plans didn’t pen out the way we hoped. But no divine assignment or adventure has been entirely smooth.
We’d left Accra at about 5.20 am to head to Ivory Coast.

On our way one of the team member Favour Udah got a call about the demise of her Dad, we were worried that she might want to turn back but thank God she was determined to be on the trip no matter what, We got to the border at about 5.15pm, at the Ghana side of the border they were friendly and willing to assist us but we were told to go to be Ivory Coast border to ensure they will let is pass through before stamping us out but unfortunately all efforts made was not successful, we ended up sleeping at the Ghana border for security because we cannot go back because it was late, we made several calls to seek advice on what to do next, in the morning we woke up happy, had to clean up because we obviously slept in the bus so no where to have our bath but we had sachet water to use to clean up, after which we got street breakfast, then a pastor who was passing to Ivory Coast in his car, saw us and came down to ask questions after which he was very glad to help us give our gifts to the children in his church then we proceeded to the immigration where we discovered that the Ivory Coast border won’t allow a Ghana plate number bus into their country, we also found that the driver brought us to the wrong route and shorter route because he wanted to save money, we were so unhappy with the company, after so much argument we decided to go back to Accra and board a flight to Serria Leone so we left around 1pm, hoping to get to Accra before midnight, even though we couldn’t make it to Ivory Coast our gift items got to the city.

Getting back to Accra, we had to spend another two nights because we needed to get our money back from Opana transport services in Circle in Accra and we also needed to get a cheap flight, the next day we went straight to the transport company, getting there they refused to follow the agreement which was 8500 Ghana Cd per day, they went ahead to remove more than half of the money which was almost the money for 5days on the trip, they removed 35,000 Ghana Cd which the total Sum of 56,000, they want to cheats us because we are not Ghanaians, the Holyspirit Ministered to me to get two eggs and say a word on it and break it in front of their office before leaving, I was scared because I have never done that before but I had to obey, immediately I did that , all the people working in that environment ran after me that I cannot enter the car and leave that they must call their chairman, which they did, after the whole explanation, the chairman realised that they cheated us and told them to return 7000 Ghana cd to us, which they immediately obeyed, we were now ask to wash off the eggs from the floor, on getting to the airport the cheapest available flight was 47,350 Ghana cd, if God did not ask us to break that eggs, we won’t have the money to complete the tickets money, because what we needed was the exact 7000 we got back from them which they wanted to rub us from. The next day we proceeded to Sierra leone high commission to get an order of mission letters; they were very friendly and welcoming.
